New Prints for a New Brand!!

Hey wel i just got done with an order from friend who is looking to start his own brand. Well i am helping him out and gave him a good price so that he can sell his shirts but we both make some profit! this design was pretty simple jus the brand name "The Lift Five" he is coming up with the ideas and going to let me know to i should have some good business through him!

this is the shirts

Here it is still on the press right before curing!

This is the Grey one the reverse of the color shirts

This is the all white black one!

So for this time i got great use out of my Silver Press from Ryonet. This press moves nice and has great registration. I also used ryonets white ink and jet black ink and they came out great! a suggestion, probably for any white ink, mix it really good so that it is creamy and it will be easier to work with. Also i was using a 110 mesh and i had coated the emulsion on 2 times so the stencil was thick.

I also gave the push method with the squeege a shot because i heard the white comes out better and i found personally it was harder and came out ugly and stucko like. So i think for now i will stick to the pull method for the squeege and get my results! the high angle and light but smooth pull gave me nice results. My friend liked them and sold them already!

There was only 6 shirts to make for now but there will be more to come!

Bummyy!!

Well this week ends up not going as well as planned! Poop! *(keeping this family friendly). But really this was not a good i was planning on making the class senior shirts for one the high schools here in my town. The knew what they wanted and everything and i would have been around 100 shirts by mid October. That would be my singl bigest order i ever had and the profit would be great and helop me out! BUT they needed a Business licence number!! I dont have one and a really want one now because that is the second order that i had to turn down because of that!

This order was going to help me but a few little supplies like goop scoops and screen tape and a some screen wash but the main thing that i was goinng to get was a FLASH DRYER that i really need to do bigger orders and this heat gun is getting annoying that it take so long! Having a flash dryer would make it so much better and less chance of messing up the curing process!

Also i need to get my garment licence but it makes no sense on how to get it! If anyone knows how to get in California let me know ASAP maybe i can still get this order!

Half Tone Success!

So i just finished my very first halftone image and at first i did not think that my printer would be capable of doing it but it did! The images i have done are one is of Jim Morrison which is in the picture and the other is of Betty Page, which i have not yet done but hopefully will get to do today!

So when making a Half tone image you do not want to use a screen such as 110 or 156 mesh screen probably not even 230. The screen that i used was a 305 mesh screen and it worked very well. also when exposing it only takes about 12 min with a 500 watt work light so just a min or 30 seconds less then normal because there is less emulsion on the screen in comparision to what a 110 or a 21o would have.

As you can see in the picture all the lil dots that make the image work together to make a shadow look and to make it seem almost like a picture. This print was for a friend of mine who wanted it on her sweater.

and after having it on her sweater she said
"He's yummmmy" Kalya

What a creep
